You've got no more shelves to shove the clothes in and still it's nothing to wear…
Try the following scientific approach to assorting the outfits and making them easy to combine. It'll become a mediator that'll help you to reconcile contraries. Though it's all about wardrobe optimization, the following list won't help you to rebuild and tidy up the closet, it'll help you to have several satisfying variants to dress each time. Here are the must-haves of your wardrobe:

1. Basic color. Choose the color to be the basic one. Such colors as black, navy, and beige are quite respectable. But you can also choose red, purple or khaki. It’s up to you whether you prefer the color you adore or whether you choose the one that just fits you without being emotionally involved.

2. Neutral dress + jacket. Buy a tailored dress with a jacket both in a neutral color. The possible fabrics are wool, linen or cotton varied with the season. The dress is either fitted or not, in any neckline, sleeved or sleeveless. But it is of particular importance that the jacket should be applicable to mix with other pieces. The casual variant is a knitted dress with a cardigan.

3. Neutral two-piece outfit. Buy a skirt/pants and a jacket both in the same fabric. This suit should be in the same color with the previous ensemble. If you think that now you've got two new outfits you are radically mistaken because you've already got five! The possible combos are:

• The dress (2)
• The dress (2) + the jacket (2)
• The dress (2) + the jacket (3)
• The skirt/pants (3) + the jacket (3)
• The skirt/pants (3) + the jacket (2)

4. Multicolor two-piece outfit. Both pieces are in the same fabric again. The rule here is that the neutral basic color of the previous suits should be incorporated into a flower or foliage pattern, stripes, dots, plaid or whatever ornament of this new suit for you could mix all your garments with each other. How many outfits will you get? It's difficult to count now. You do the math and combinatorics!

5. Another basic color. Choose one more color. Let it be gray if the first color is black or brown if the first color is beige. These colors blend well. Think out some other pairs. The main criterion is the combinability. Buy one more skirt or/and pants in this second basic color. A distinguished fabric handle is especially good here.

6. Sweater. Now you need a couple of sweaters in any of the abovementioned colors. Mind the length and the neck. V-neck is quite hip and flattering if the sweater is not long and not loose.

7. Tops. You also need several tops to wear with your suits, skirts and pants, and maybe under the sweater to peel the sweater off if it's too warm. Your tops can be either in solid colors or not.

8. Tweed pants / skirts. A tweed skirt will add you a businesslike chic so you won't be sorry about this purchase. Make sure you wear a silk shirt and good shoes with it.
